Sometimes it's hard to understand the things that come our way,
when all goes wrong and we lose the sight of the way to use each day
to accept the things we cannot change, the things that cloud our minds,
to reach for faith as each day comes, we search and hope to find.

To say ‘why me' is such a waste, we can't see it at the time,
we worry about the wrongs we see, why people have to die,
why people fight, why children cry and what use is it to cry
our troubles seem to overwhelm and we lose the will to try.

Yet every day the sun comes up, a tiny babe is born
a plant breaks through to send its shoots and buds begin to form
the light at the end of the tunnel is there, it's there I promise you,
so don't give up when all seems lost and you wonder what to do?

Look ahead, but not too far, take one day at a time,
no-one said life's easy when problems get entwined
when people hurt each other and your world just seems to end
it's hard to keep on trying when worry and sadness descend.

Rewards are there if you truly seek using all your time on earth
to try and fill each day with love and remember your own worth
there are people out there who love you, lean on you and definitely depend,
there's loved ones who are near and far, some family and friends
above all else there are strangers, like me, who you may never know
who understand your helplessness, your worries and your woes.

So even if you don't believe in a power higher that's near,
don't despair, don't give up, the meaning will come clear,
just learn to trust and hang in there and above all DON'T GIVE UP.
